Soft Pretzels
2 packages dry yeast
2 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup soft margarine
1 egg
7 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in water and stir in sugar, salt, margarine, egg and 4 cups flour. Beat until blended and add rest of flour 1/2 cup at a time. Knead 8-10 minutes. Place in greased bowl and turn so greased on top. Place in plastic bag for 2-24 hours. Divide dough into 32 pieces, roll and shape into pretzels. Place on greased baking sheet. Combine 1 egg yolk and 2 tablespoons water and brush on pretzels. Sprinkly with coarse salt. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes. Bake 400 for 15 minutes.
